2012 Harvest Celebration
In 2012, the renowned Harvest Celebration in Beechworth will be the prized opening event for the launch of a major showcase of regional food and wine.
Built around the long-established Harvest Celebration in Beechworth, the new regional event the High Country Harvest will be based on the successful Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
The High Country Harvest will open on the third weekend in May with the Harvest Celebration in Beechworth event, bookended 10 days later by the popular Myrtleford Italian festival, La Fiera. A comprehensive program from across the region of food and wine related activities and experiences will link the two weekends.
"Feast and forge your way around Victoria’s bountiful High Country over 10 delectable days in May. In a region where produce and personalities are the heroes, indulgei n food, wine and craft beer nurtured from the fertile soils, as you meet the producers and winemakers who have not long harvested their autumn spoils. The program abounds with intimate hands-on cooking classes from Bright to the King Valley, behind-the-scenes tastings and tours from Rutherglen to Mansfield, unforgettable dining experiences in renowned regional restaurants and more".
Kicking off with Harvest Celebration in Beechworth on Saturday the 19th from 10am-5pm, enjoy the producer’s picnic, taste and learn in the Wine Room or experience our chefs at work in Culinary Theatre.
Indigo Shire Locals Two for One Entry
Indigo Shire Residents - simply need to bring along some form of identification of where you live and show this at the entry gate to the Producers' Picnic at La Trobe at Beechworth to receive two for one entry. Instead of paying $20 for two, you'll pay just $10.
