Weekend Producers’ Picnic
At its new home in the quaint Beechworth Police Paddocks, the Producers’ Picnic will again showcase more than 50 hand-selected local producers, including a range of boutique breweries, local vineyards, farmers, primary and artisan producers.
Armed with Plumm wine tasting glasses and a keen eye for quality, patrons craving sustainable produce with low-food kilometres can meander around the Producers’ Picnic enjoying the sights, tastes and sounds, while personally meeting the individual growers.
Each year our growers focus on presenting their produce with great imagination and creative flair, using thoughtfully chosen themes and decor on their stalls to enhance the festival experience.
With the honour of being named “Best Dressed Stall” at stake, producers go all-out to make their stall colourful and interesting for festival-goers to enjoy.
And it is not just all about the adults either. We will again be providing plenty of fun and entertainment for the “littlies”, with activities such as face painting, cake decorating, singing and music-making all on offer.
Both ‘big’ and little kids alike will enjoy the interactive old school style activities of egg and spoon races, apple bobbing, Dress the Scarecrow races and sack races.
For those looking for a real dose of Beechworth’s history, the Beechworth Historical Society will again kindly open the doors to the Burke Museum, Courthouse and Sub Treasury Building for free admission to festival patrons.
Not to be burdened by your day’s assortment of High Country produce, the Producers’ Pantry & Fridge is a free ‘shop and drop’ service to have your goods cared for whilst you wander hands-free all day long.
Add to this some great musical entertainment running throughout the day, a friendly welcome from the good people of this beautiful town and the opportunity for an extended weekend visit in the beautiful north-east Victoria region, and the Beechworth Harvest Celebration is surely an event not to be missed.
